What It Is
This is simply an inspirational book about life and its lessons.

Chrissy Metz shares her story with a raw honesty that will leave readers both surprised but also inspired.

She shares how she has applied the lessons she learned from both setbacks and successes. A born entertainer, Chrissy finds light in even her darkest moments, and leaves the reader feeling they are spending time with a friend who gets it.

Chrissy encourages us all to claim our rightful place in a world that may be trying to knock us down, find our own unique gifts, and pursue our dreams.

Christine Michelle Metz (born September 29, 1980) is an American actress and singer. She is known for playing Kate Pearson in the NBC drama This Is Us , for which she has earned Best Supporting Actress nominations at the Primetime Emmy Awards ( 2017 ) and Golden Globe Awards ( 2017 and 2018 ).

Metz was born to Denise and Mark Metz and raised in Homestead, Florida. She spent her formative years in Japan , where her father, Mark Metz, was stationed with the United States Navy .

The family later moved back to
Gainesville, Florida, where she attended elementary, middle, and high school. She grew up with her mother, stepfather, two siblings, and two half-siblings.

On January 5, 2008, Metz married British journalist Martyn Eaden in a Santa Barbara, California beachside ceremony.

They separated in January 2013, and Eaden filed for divorce from Metz in November 2014, citing “irreconcilable differences”. On December 11, 2015, their divorce was finalized.

Metz is best known for her role as Kate Pearson in the NBC drama series This Is Us , which earned her Primetime Emmy Award and
Golden Globe Award nominations. She is also known for her role in FX’s American Horror Story: Freak Show.

Metz is a singer in her band Chrissy and The Vapors.
In early 2018, it was announced that Metz would star in The Impossible Movie , working with producer DeVon Franklin .

She is cast as Joyce Smith, the mother of John, a 14-year-old boy who fell through an icy Missouri lake and was proclaimed dead.

The movie, based on the book written by Smith herself, tells the true story of how a mother’s devotion and dedication brings her son back to life.

With all her experiences in life , I think she has a lot to offer you as a reader on life.

What The Book Talks About

In This is Me, Chrissy Metz shares her story with a raw honesty that will leave readers both surprised but also inspired.

Things you will learn about her in the book include:

1. She was estranged from her biological father for years.

She believes her biological father, whom she calls Mark, cheated on her mom, and her parents divorced when she was 8. Metz says she has no memory of ever “bonding” with him.

Chrissy’s dad, a former Navy officer who she calls by his first name, Mark, remarried almost immediately after her parents divorced when Chrissy was eight.

Just before her ninth birthday, she says she met her father’s new wife, Judy, on a camping trip. “I wouldn’t see my father again until I was twenty-one,” Chrissy writes, “at a shower for [my brother] Phillip’s baby boy. It was at Phillip’s house, and Mark walked right by me in the family room.

Even my high school graduation announcement came back Return to Sender.” (Chrissy’s father has denied abandoning the family.)

2. Her stepfather, Trigger, was allegedly abusive.
Chrissy writes that her body “seemed to offend” her stepfather and that he “joked about putting a lock on the refrigerator.”

She also claims that he forced her to have weigh-ins and that he would hit her. “He never punched my face,” she wrote. “Just my body, the thing that offended him so much. He shoved me, slapped me, punched my arm. He would hit me if he thought I looked at him wrong.”
“I have come to terms with my feelings about Trigger,” she writes.

Chrissy has since said she feels like this part of her story has been used by the Internet as “clickbait,” explaining that many articles fail to leave out that “I have forgiven him, he’s apologized and I respect him and he was more of a father to me than my biological father.”

According to the Associated Press, Chrissy’s stepfather has publicly denied her claims.

3.She and her ex-husband weren’t the right fit, but they’re still friends.
She married Marty Eaden, a Brit she met online, in January 2008, and they divorced in 2015. They drifted apart in part because Chrissy was attending a support group for her struggles with overeating and he turned to exercise.

“When we put the food down, we realized we just didn’t have much in common,” Chrissy writes. “The more that we started focusing on ourselves as individuals, the more the wedge between us grew … Even though it’s okay for couples to not always be together, it felt like we were actively choosing to spend time apart and using our schedules as an excuse for what was really happening.”

Today, she says she and Marty are friends. “I am still working on my goal of being a better ex-wife than I was a wife,” she writes.

4. She had lunch with Oprah Winfrey
She went to Oprah’s Montecito, Calif., estate (in a car that needed to be washed), a meeting she feels she spoke into fruition while at a pizzeria with her ex-husband.

Before noshing on a spring-mix salad and pasta with truffle flakes, she declared, “I want to be in Montecito someday, hanging out with Oprah.”

Reflecting on her reality, she writes, “My wish came true because I put it out there. I truly believe that the things you want can happen, but it starts with asking.”

5. She’s grateful for her haters
Metz’s journey has a tone of gratitude, reflected once again in the last group she recognizes in her acknowledgments. “Lastly, to the folks who told me no, passed me up and counted me down and out,” she says. “You were always a part of the plan. Thank you.”

6.She hooked up with her best friend’s brother as a teen, but he acted like he was embarrassed of her.

When Chrissy would sleep over her best friend’s house, she’d sneak down to the living room to make out with her friend’s brother, and she fell hard for him.

But she says that, in front of his friends, the boy acted like there was nothing between them. “I made it acceptable for Derek to keep me secret,” she writes, “because what alternative was there? I didn’t think I was worthy of being claimed.” She ran into him five years ago in the mall, around Christmastime, and realized, “Maybe he’s not the one that got away … maybe I am.”

All the experiences that she puts out in the book have so much to teach you about life in general as a reader.
Some of the lessons include:

We’re made from love, with love, to love.

We all have a purpose,” she said. “Some people are the tall oak trees, and some people are the beautiful bushes. But everyone has a purpose. There is nobody here on earth who doesn’t have a path or a purpose. An innate destiny. Every human being who comes, comes called

You are not the authority on what makes others feel loved.

We can’t write lines for people just because we want to hear them

What you do and what you spend your time doing is a message to the universe. And the universe doesn’t know good or bad; it just knows what you are focusing on.

Best Place to Buy The Book

The best place I recommend you buy the book is on Amazon. The price there is fair and according to my research, it is the most trusted online store at the moment. It will also be very convenient for you to buy there if you were planning to do more online shopping today.

My Thoughts

A good book with so much to teach you about life in general. It’s a great mix of storytelling and personal tips.
