With that said, lets get started right away.
Firstly, here are some of the key details of the book:

The Gist of the Leading Brain Book
This book is more of a guide that seeks to help you apply the current research in brain science in leadership effectively to see your results improve significantly.
In the book you will learn some of the rewarding strategies such as:
* How to improve compound decision making
* How to sharpen your focus
* How to build strong teams and trust
* How to learn and retain information excellently
* How to be a high performer
* And much more
The book has been published by two authors.
One is Friederike Fabritius, who I found out is a leading expert in the field of Neuroleadership and is a highly sought after speaker and a neuropsychologist.
More importantly, she has huge expertise working with top executives like Fortune 500 companies.
On the other hand, we have Hans W. Hagemann, Ph.D. He is co-founder and the managing partner at the global leadership consultancy firm Munich Leadership Group.
He too has worked with top executives in different countries and is a global expert on innovation and leadership.
Both the authors have huge experience in their areas of expertise and I have to say you will notice that when you get to read the book and see the kind of perspectives they share there. Just amazing!
The Meat Of The Book
This highly resourceful book starts by emphasizing on the importance of understanding how the brain works in order to work well yourself and with others.
Unlike other business books, this book works with science based information to support the kind of techniques and tips that have been proven to work in the work place.
From the book you learn deep stuff about leadership that will increase your understanding of work and other aspects of the workplace that will go a long way in increasing your performance and productivity as a worker.
The authors urge leaders not to get caught up in the fads that come with leadership but to instead take time to understand how the brain functions, so as to impact peak performance.
Some of my major takeaways from the book include:
* It is critical to regulate your negative emotions to peak performance. Don’t try to inhibit negative emotions at work, instead, recognize and label how you feel.
* Creating a climate of appreciation also is very key in working situations. This is because it causes people to perform well. On the other hand, threatening people all the time causes them not perform in the best way that they could. So create a psychologically safe workplace.
My favourite chapter in this book is the one on managing habits because the book guides you through great strategies that will walk you through proper habit change based on the latest information in neuroscience tested in business.
The habits can truly transform your life if you take them seriously.
On unleashing the unconscious, you will learn important things such as, how the unconscious drives you to make decisions, why it’s best to follow your intuition and also how to solve your problems.
The authors also explain the importance of fostering learning. Here, you will learn how to get your messages across to people you work with and also how to manage knowledge effectually.
I have barely scratched the surface as far as the content of the book goes. I would encourage you to read the book to get all the insights and advice given by the authors.
There are things that are self explanatory and would be best understood if you read them yourself. Trust me on this.
The Good And Bad Of The Book
We will start with the good first:
* The book offers useful and practical information that actually works
* It’s one entertaining and helpful read
* It’s written by highly experienced professionals which is going to benefit you in a big way
There are people who say that some sections of the book have not been well addressed. Personally, I would say the book is quite okay but you know, everyone sees things differently. So I would advice you to read the book yourself and get your personal experience with it as not all people noticed that aspect. It is only a few.
The book by the way was named a Best Business Book of 2017 by Strategy Business which goes to show that the good definitely in a large way outweighs the bad.
Leading Brain Vs Peak Performance by Brad Stulberg and Steve Magness
Peak performance is another interesting book that advices you on getting the most out of yourself and being successful.
It also covers a good deal of the aspect of bettering yourself which will in turn improve your abilities at work and other areas of life.
There is only a slight difference of it from the leading brain book which advises you on performing to your best potential in working situations as they head to the same destination, but take different routes.
On this note, I would say that both books are good to read as they complement each other in a way. In fact, according to Amazon both books are frequently bought together so you might want to try it too.
Where To Get The Book
To get yourself a copy of this extremely helpful book, I encourage you to go to www.amazon.com. I find buying from the store to have so many benefits as you get:
* Free access to prime reading
* Free shipping for print book
* No extra cost once you get one kindle first ebook a month
* Free access to audible channels and so much more
As I conclude, I would like you to remember that in the book you will learn to:
1. Sharpen your focus
2. Strong teams and trust
3. Learn and retain information excellently
4. Be a high performer and much more
My Final Thoughts On The Book
Honestly, the book is packed with lots of useful information which is going to benefit you greatly if you take the advice seriously, think deeply about it and make the constant effort to put it into practice.
I highly recommend this book to any person that feels the need to be more efficient at work, or a person that wants to understand how the brain works and what it can do if given the attention and time needed.
And that is pretty much it with the leading brain book.
I would love to hear your experiences with the book as well as any questions you may have on it.
Please feel free to leave your thoughts and opinions on the book. And if you have other great self help books that you would want me to do reviews on, let me know in the comments below. I will be waiting. 🙂
