Awesome! Let’s get deep into this fish oil.

What is omega 3 DHA and EPA fish oil?

This is a dietary supplement that contains docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), which are fatty acids, the two long chained omega 3 fatty acids known to help with stess relief, brain improvement and boosting the general health of your heart, to mention a few. You will find plenty of these two fatty acids in most seafood, oily fish and just a bit of DHA in algae.

One of the differences between EPA and DHA is that, other than the sources of these two being most fish, DHA can also be found in low quantities in algae.

Omega 3 DHA & EPA Review

DHA and EPA supplement is well known to fight life threatening diseases like cancer, depression, rheumatoid arthritis, ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), asthma and cardiovascular disease, among others.

Please don’t confuse this with ALA (Alpha linolenic Acid), another type of omega 3 fatty acid found in most plants like flaxseed. This is entirely different since it is only based on plants while the other two are based on sea life. ALA is also known to provide very few health benefits compared to EPA and DHA.

Most folks in the US are used to taking omega-6, which is also different from omega-3’s like EPA, DHA and ALA. The problem with omega 6 foods like cookies and crackers, is that they have been found to bring inflammation at a high rate, which makes the initial stages of most chronic diseases.

So if you are one of them, you may want to consider a change of diet to avoid these diseases.

How it Works

Well, if you are pregnant, you will need to have a good amount of EPA and DHA in your body so that your baby can grow to be healthy and more bright with stuff like problem solving skills, and all other great intellectual skills and abilities.

The thing is, during your pregnancy, there are nutrients you pass on to the foetus through the placenta, and DHA happens to be one of them. But you can only pass on this type of omega 3, if you have ingested plenty of it.

That is why pregnant women are always advised to sneak in about 12 ounces worth of seafood in their meals every week. And if you can’t manage this, this supplement can make a great alternative.

This supplement has also been linked with helping the pregnancy going through successfully for 9 months and a better delivery without any complications.

The reason is, one of the main causes of premature birth which may lead to death, along with other complications, is inflammation in the uterus. And this can be reduced by EPA and DHA, as it helps regulate the production of prostaglandin F2a and prostaglandin E2 that hugely contribute to the inflammation.

This supplement also works great on cardiovascular disease as it treats the primary cause of the disease, which is chronic inflammation. The inflammation is also the cause of many other chronic conditions.

Other than those, EPA and DHA does a lot more including increasing brain health, lowering the risks of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, brain damage, stroke, preventing cancer and many more.

Reviews (Experience with the product)

So I looked into the feedback on this supplement from people who have been using it, and I must admit I was happy to see that people were loving it and were getting all the health benefits with it.

5 star ratings are more than the rest, which means it’s great!

I also went into the poor ratings to find out the cause. Most of these people complained of not seeing results. To tell you the truth, the results you want can only be gotten if you use the product as instructed (take 2 softgels per day) and making sure you visit a doctor before you use it.

This will save you a lot of troubles as the doctor will help you know if it is the best for you based on how well they know your current health status. So please, remember to do that.

Benefits

Here are the benefits you will get with the EPA &DHA omega 3 supplement:

• Improving your brain

• Reducing inflammation

• Helping the pregnancy go through successfully

• Has shown potential in lowering risks of cancer, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease (although not fully confirmed)

• Treating cardiovascular disease

• Improving overall heart health

• Promoting healthy foetal development

• Bringing down stress and depression

• Lowering risk of chronic conditions

Dosage

You are advised to take 2000mg per day. This means 2 softgels per day as each softgel has a concentration of 1000mg.

Taking less thanOmega 3 DHA & EPA Review (Dosage) this, say 800mg, 600mg or even 400mg per day won’t have much effect in you and you may find yourself seeing no changes.

So please stick to the recommended dose.

Also, be sure not to overdose because you don’t know how your body may react to high doses of it.

And you definitely don’t want to test the waters.

Side Effects

No side effects have been reported with this product so far, so you can use it without any worry.

But you should note, along the same lines, if you eat seafood sometimes as an alternative to this supplement, carefully choosing the kind of fish you are eating to give you these omega 3 oils is critically important.

Not every fish you find in the sea is healthy. Most of them have toxins like PCBs (Polychlorinated Biphenyls) and mercury, found in water, air and soil, which fish take in.

The best types of fish you should consider include Pollock, shrimp, catfish, canned light tuna and wild salmon. Stay away from tilefish, swordfish, shark and king mackerel. There are high quantities of mercury in them which can be unhealthy and dangerous for you.

Where to Buy EPA and DHA Online

There are so many omega 3 DHA and EPA supplements out there, but if you want the best one, my recommendation is the one at www.AbsorbYourHealth.com.

They have the best prices and will give you free shipping within the US if you buy in bulk.

If you are in other countries like Australia, Canada and UK, to mention a few, you will have to pay a little extra for the shipping, but it’s well worth the value you are getting compared to getting free shipping of a low quality product.

You can also get a wholesale price for them if you want good wholesale prices for them

You can buy the EPA and DHA supplement here

For a few years now I have seen people talking about Omega 3 supplements but I never really understood the whole hype around it. Now that I have read your review I understand how important these supplements are for our health. Our natural resources for many vitamins nowadays often have unnecessary additions, I wasn’t aware that this includes the fish we eat. Thanks for opening my eyes to it!

    1. You are welcome Rose,

Glad to have you stop by.

      Have a lovely day! 🙂

    Hi,

Great review about omega 3 DHA. Last week doctor prescribed omega supplementary for my niece who is 5 months pregnant. We couldn’t find in the local pharmacy. They said we can find out it online. So I just read this review. And you explain everything very well. Just one thing would like to know shall I have to ask the doctor about the proportion or how many she has to take or I can find out on the medicine level?

    1. Hey there Nazmur,

We recommend checking with the doctor for professional advice and guidance. It’s the safest way to go based on her particular health status at the moment.

      Hope this helps.

      Have a nice day!

I’ve been taking DHA and EPA Omega 3 for a while now and it has definitely improved my overall health: my skin is more supple and I suffer from fewer aches and pains. Moreover, I am glad to hear that there is no enough data for the claims that it actually fights cancer. And that is true, there is no evidence that it fights cancer. Whilst there is some evidence of its effects on inflammation, there is also no good quality evidence linking it to a reduction in cardiovascular disease, nor Alzheimer’s and definitely not brain damage either. I will be sure to keep that in mind. Thanks a lot.

    1. Thanks for stopping by and for your contribution.

      They are highly appreciated.

      Have a fantastic day!

  6. Dear Dave,

This is an interesting and helpful review. I recently learned about the importance of Omega 3 and realized the importance of taking this supplement. While doing an online search, I came across your helpful review.

You have provided in-depth and detailed information on Omega 3 DHA & EPA. I can tell you I have taken some great insights from this post. Nowadays it’s almost impossible to get the required amount of minerals and vitamins via the food we intake. So supplements are a must.

I am amazed by the many benefits of this supplement and when I checked the price it’s under my budget and very affordable. No side effects are really great news. You left no stone up-turned in explaining how it all works. Omega 3 DHA & EPA is on my list.

    1. Hey there Paul,

Nice to hear that you found the post to be helpful.

That is what we always aim at.

      Cheers.

Great and informative review about Asbord Health´s omega3. The effects and health benefits of EPA and DHA are significant but epa has a2 and other micro compounds having same mechanism of action as corticosteroids. But without corticosteroid side effects. Thats why EPA is even better compared to DHA, especially in terms of defending against inflammatory in our bodies. Due its corticosteroid related effects, its also stronger anti-depressant. This product seems to have awesome value for its price. And its EPA DHA -ratio seems to be pretty good, 50% more EPA. However, thanks for good review, I will take a further look at your website.
